8 WEEK ADVANCED METHODS PROGRAM: 2 WEEKS REMOTE COLLABORATION + 6 WEEKS ON ISLA MUJERES

The application + tuition deadline for the ​8 Week Advanced Methods Session (June 22 - August 14) is April 1, 2026

The full tuition Cost is $5750 USD with 8 student maximum cohort size. Includes private room - shared double room availability and rates TBA

Tuition Paid in Full is Due April 22 2026 -- Early Bird Discount (-$500) if paid in full by December 1 2025

Standard $5750 tuition includes a private room, lodging, online course work, class materials, and ethnographic methods training,

FALL 2025 AND SPRING 2026 GLOBAL ETHNOGRAPHY PROGRAMS: 12 WEEKS FULLY REMOTE

The application + tuition deadline for the Fall Global Ethnography Program  (August 25, 2025 - December 7, 2025) is September 7 2025

.The application + tuition deadline for the Spring Global Ethnography Program  (January 6 2026 - April 17 2026) is January 11 2026 

Standard $2500 tuition includes all reading materials. ​Letter of recommendation, photos, insurance, etc. are not necessary for fully remote courses.

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - HYBRID PROGRAM: 5 WEEKS REMOTE COLLABORATION + 3 WEEKS ON ISLA MUJERES

[1 week online remote research preparation + 3 weeks field work on Isla Mujeres + 3 weeks remote collaboration + 1 week follow up}

Tell us a bit about your interests in anthropology, social science research, the study of culture and environment -- or other interests you may have that you would like to pursue while at the Isla Mujeres Ethnographic Field School. Also include three reasons why you want to attend the field school; a paragraph per reason will suffice.

Advanced Methods and Hybrid Research Associate Application Requirements

 

Applications are first-come, first-serve. We will only accept 8 students per session. If one or both of the sessions is filled, we will note that here when appropriate.

 

We advise that you apply as soon as you have decided that you want to attend  to ensure your cohort space.

All application materials should be sent as one e-mail (the personal letter as the body of the e-mail -- and as an attachment transcripts, photo, resume and letter(s) of recommendation.

The subject line of your application should read 'Field School Application'. Send your application to:  admissions@anthrofieldschool.com

 

Once you send your application you will be notified via e-mail within one week indicating if you have been accepted or not.  Once you have been accepted, you will be given instructions regarding tuition payment.

 

Your $500 deposit is due within one week of acceptance.

 

TRANSCRIPTS AND RECOMMENDATION

 

Please attach a scanned copy of your University or College transcripts - and at least one letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the department of anthropology (if you are not an anthropology student, then a letter from a faculty member in your department will suffice).

 

Also attach one recent picture of yourself.

If you do not have a GPA of at least 2.5 then we will require two letters of recommendation from two of your current faculty instructors.

INSURANCE

All Field School participants must provide their own health insurance.

Documentation of coverage is required before attending the Isla Mujeres Ethnographic Field School.

REFUND AND LODGING POLICIES

Partial Refunds may only be offered in the case of personal medical emergency or catastrophic injury as documented by a local physician or hospital.

Partial Refunds are offered solely at the discretion of Program Director Dr. Todd Pierce.

Family members and friends are not welcome to stay at student lodging during the course.

The Field School is an independent learning exercise and it is suggested visitors travel to the island after the student's academic course is fully complete.
