As part of our Advanced Methods and Practicum courses we also offer an Intensive Spanish Language Course that students can select as an addition to either their 8 Week Advanced Methods or 3 Week Practicum Course

This specialized training will take place 2 hours per day, 5 days per week with lead Spanish language instructor and permanent Isla Mujeres resident Christy Dix of On Target Language Services.

For the 3 Week Practicum Courses: 15 two hour sessions (5 days per week x 3 weeks) will cost an additional $650 US Dollars.

For the 8 Week Advanced Methods Courses: 30 two hour sessions (5 days a week x 6 weeks), an additional $1,300 US Dollars for a total of 60 hours of formal language training. Students will also have a minimum of 120 hours of practical Spanish use during field research.

At the moment, the best way for credits to be assigned is for students to take 3 credits in the Spring Semester at their university with their advisor and the director of the Spanish language Department. They should then take this 3 credits as *incomplete*. When the student returns to their university their advisor or departmental head can then change the course to *complete*.

Be sure to indicate in your application if you are interested in this additional program.

The number of days, hours or weeks can be adjusted per student based on their interest. Pricing will be adjusted accordingly.

Additional Spanish Language Training (10 hours per week) will be on top of your required 40 hours of Methods/Practicum training.

The Isla Mujeres Ethnographic Field School is  also offering private basic conversational training in the Maya language.
